Here Are the First Week Numbers for 6ix9ine’s ‘Dummy Boy’

Written by on December 3, 2018

The projected first week numbers for 6ix9ine’s troubled debut album, Dummy Boy, predicted that he’d bag his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with the release. That wasn’t meant to be, however. Neck and neck with Travis Scott’s Astroworld, whose sales were likely bolstered by his tour of the same name, 6ix9ine’s record has landed at the No. 2, moving 66,000 equivalent album units.

10,000 of those units were pure album sales. Since Dummy Boy dropped on Tuesday, these figures are only based on three of seven days of the tracking week. Astroworld, meanwhile, grabs the No. 1 spot with 71,000 equivalent album units album equivalent units (31,000 of which were album sales bolstered by the release of the Skrillex remix of “Sicko Mode”).

Dummy Boy has had a rough road to its release. Originally scheduled to drop on Nov. 23, the record was postponed “until further notice” following his arrest on Nov. 18. The project includes features from Bobby Shmurda, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby, Tory Lanez, Gunna, and Kanye West among others.

6ix9ine has been in prison for federal racketeering and firearms charges. The rapper previously avoided jail time in connection with his 2015 guilty plea to the use of a child in a sexual performance, for which he was given four years of probation.

Police also reportedly believe 6ix9ine might have implicated himself in the unsolved shooting targeted at Chief Keef and his cousin Tadoe in New York City. “We believe the video is directly related to the crime,” explained one source. “We believe Tekashi69 ordered the hit on Tadoe—who we now believe is the intended target.”
