Here Are the First Week Numbers for Beyoncé, Anderson .Paak, and BTS

Written by on April 22, 2019

Beyoncé‘s surprise project Homecoming: The Live Album featuring audio from her iconic 2018 Coachella performance finished in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart, despite just two days of tracking activity. Per Billboard, the album with the same title as the Netflix documentary debuted at No. 7 after earning 38,000 album equivalent units, 14,000 of which came from album sales, following its April 17 release. Bey’s latest effort will likely wind up with a higher spot on the chart with a full week under its belt.

Regardless of when Beyoncé dropped Homecoming: The Live Album, it was going to be difficult to topple Map of the Soul: Persona, the latest project from BTS. Persona is the group’s third No. 1 album in just under 11 months after amassing 230,000 equivalent album units, where 196,000 units consisted of album sales, 8,000 were in the form of track equivalent albums (TEA) units, and 26,000 in streaming equivalent albums (SEA) units.

BTS became the first traditional group since The Beatles to have three No. 1s on the Billboard 200 in less than a year. Persona also stands as the fourth highest-selling album of 2019, and the second-biggest week for a group this year.

Anderson .Paak‘s fourth studio album Ventura became his first top 10 finish on the Billboard 200 chart as it came away with 55,000 units in its first week, which was good enough for No. 4. His last album, Oxnard, peaked at No. 11.
