The numbers are in for the debut chart performance of some of this week’s new releases, including YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s album Still Flexin, Still Steppin and BTS’ Map of the Soul: 7.
Billboard reports BTS’ album Map of the Soul: 7 has debuted at No. 1 for the week ending in Feb. 27, which will be the group’s fourth No. 1 album in less than two years and the year’s biggest week for any release. The project brought in 422,000 equivalent album units in the U.S., with the majority directed by the 347,000 album sales. The group’s other three charting albums were Map of the Soul: Persona (2019), Love Yourself: Answer (2018), and Love Yourself: Tear (2018). According to the outlet, May of the Soul: 7 is doing well even though there isn’t a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer or merchandise/album bundles, which has become standard practice for big releases.
NBA’s offering has landed the No. 2 spot, earning 91,000 equivalent album units. With 87,000 from SEA units, Still Flexin, Still Steppin is the week’s most-streamed album. His 2019 project, AI YoungBoy 2, was his first No. 1 album.
Hits Daily Double reports that Lil Baby’s My Turn (which dropped on Feb. 28) is on track for the No. 1 spot next week, taking advantage of the album’s huge stream count: over 55 million on the first day. Look for the official numbers next Sunday.
