This successful week for hip-hop will finish with Lil Baby evading the sophomore slump.
Per HITS Daily Double, Lil Baby’s My Turn generated over 55 million streams the first day it was released. This growing stream count is expected to translate to 170,000-190,000 in total activity with 4,000-7,000 coming from pure album sales. If these predictions hold true, Lil Baby will jump to the top of the charts and secure his first no. 1 album.
The 20 track album is highlighted by hits like “Whoa,” “Sum 2 Prove,” and “Catch the Sun” (which also appeared on the Queen & Slim soundtrack). It’s also stacked with features from Lil Wayne, Moneybagg Yo, Young Thug, Future, and more. Adding to the star-studded line-up, Lil Baby rekindled his connection with Gunna on the track, “Heatin Up.”
Following close behind is Bad Bunny‘s YHLQMDLG (Yo Hago Lo Que Me Da La Gana). This album will likely have 130,000-140,000 in total activity with 24,000-27,000 physical copies sold. This sets the stage for G Herbo‘s PTSD, which is expected to rake in 50,000-60,000 in total activity (1,000-2,000 pure album sales). That will give the Chicago-native the no. 4 album in the country, making PTSD his highest-charting project. Coming in fifth is Five Finger Death Punch’s F8 while James Taylor’s American Standard will snag the no. 3 spot.
