Here Are the First-Week Projections for Pusha-T’s ‘It’s Almost Dry’

Written by on April 23, 2022

The numbers are looking good for Pusha-T.

According to first-week projections shared by HitsDailyDouble, the rapper is expected to take the No. 1 spot with It’s Almost Dry—his final project under the Def Jam banner. The album is projected to move 50,000-55,000 units in its first week; 4,000-6,000 of which will be in pure album sales.

If the projections are correct, It’s Almost Dry could mark the first King Push album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. His 2018 effort Daytona debuted at No. 3; while 2015’s Darkest Before Dawn and 2013’s My Name Is My Name peaked at No. 20 and No. 4, respectively.

It’s Almost Dry boasted production by Pharrell and Kanye West, both of whom contributed vocals to the 12-track project. Other featured artists included Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Lil Uzi Vert, and Don Toliver.

Pusha spoke about the album during a recent interview with Rolling Stone, where he explained the meaning behind its title.

“I’m always creating a masterpiece and in the creation of that in terms of a painting, you end up telling people while they waiting on it, ‘It’s almost dry,’ because they’re always asking, ‘When will it be done?’” he said. “And you have to wait on masterpieces,” he says. “Also in drug culture, a lot of times you’ll have people waiting on the product and it’s not dry yet. You can come get it when it’s dry.”

Pusha will support the album with a U.S. tour beginning next month. You can check out the show dates below.
