According to the rumor mill over at Hits Daily Double, Quavo‘s solo debut studio album Quavo Huncho, is expected to sell between 100-110k copies in its first week on the market. Hits adds that just 5-7k of those are expected to come via pure album sales. Quavo Huncho boasts features from Drake, 21 Savage, Travis Scott, Cardi B, Lil Baby, Kid Cudi, and others.
What will @QuavoStuntin & @ellamai do in their first week? How will the @ladygaga @starisbornmovie ST do in its second week? Put these numbers in your pipe and smoke ’em. https://t.co/ceHr5JJmq4 pic.twitter.com/eNeMKFChie

For the sake of comparison, this past January’s Culture II from Migos basically doubled those numbers in its first week. That project went on to hit the No. 1 spot and eventually achieved platinum status. Furthermore the Quavo/Travis Scott collaboration Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho from December of 2017 had similar first week sales as Quavo’s most recent release and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 90,000 units moved.
Indeed the projections for Quavo Huncho are solid, but the much hyped release is still expected to run second on the charts, in the runner-up position to the Lady Gaga-Bradley Cooper A Star is Born soundtrack. As for that album, it’s on pace to stay No. 1 by selling more than 125,000 units one week after it recorded the biggest debut for a soundtrack in three-and-a-half-years. Ella Mai‘s self-titled debut studio album is projected to take the No. 3 spot with 50-55k units.
So, like always, it’s all in the timing.
