The BET Hip Hop Awards are back.
Some of music’s biggest names gathered at the Cobb Energy Centre in Atlanta last Friday, Sept. 30, to celebrate the latest achievements in hip-hop. This year’s edition, being broadcast tonight, is hosted by Fat Joe and includes performances by Lil’ Kim, the Wu-Tang Clan, David Banner, Dead Prez, Remy Ma, and Three 6 Mafia.
The 2022 nominees were announced several weeks ago, with Drake and Kanye West leading the pack with 14 and 10 nods, respectively. The two are competing against each other in a number of categories, such as Hustler of the Year, Best Live Performer, and Best Hip-Hop Album of the Year—Drake for Certified Lover Boy and Ye for Donda. Kendrick is next in line with nine nods for his work in the Mr. Morale era.
The 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards are broadcast tonight (Oct. 4) on BET, Logo, MTV, MTV2, TV Land, and VH1. The ceremony can also be streamed on Sling TV or fuboTV.
