The Pharrell-narrated update of the ultraclassic Dr. Seuss tale How the Grinch Stole Christmas! is out in a matter of days. As previously reported with unbridled enthusiasm, the Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures production notably boasts new music from Tyler, the Creator. Today, we get the full version of Tyler’s take on “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.”
The update marks a collaboration between Tyler and prolific Oscar-nominated composer Danny Elfman, who’s previously created some magic with Tim Burton and Henry Selick. In addition to this reimagining of the Thurl Ravenscroft-performed 1966 original, the soundtrack for the 2018 edition of The Grinch will feature an all-new Tyler track titled “I Am the Grinch.”
