Here’s Your First Look at Jason Momoa’s Sleek New ‘Aquaman 2’ Costume

Jason Momoa’s Aquaman has a brand new look.
With the sequel to 2018’s Aquaman set to arrive in theaters next year, the star took to Instagram to debut the DC hero’s latest costume.
Alongside an image of his costume in the first film, which pays tribute to classic comic book depictions of the character, and his look in the sequel, Momoa wrote, “Second round. New suit. More action.”
With a sleek and darker look, the costume revision looks a little more Bruce Wayne than it does King of the Seven Seas. Variety reports that the outfit is called the “stealth suit,” with metallic details and flashes of dark blue, standing in stark contrast to the golden-green combo of the first costume.
Filming for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom kicked off back in June, and is set to debut in theaters on Dec. 16, 2022. Momoa and director James Wan will return in their respective roles, as will Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, and recent Candyman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
Speaking of Abdul-Mateen II, the actor opened up about his role as Black Manta in the upcoming sequel in an interview with Variety last month. “Now, we have a character who’s more mature, who has more time to breathe,” he teased. “And we get to understand him and some of his values and some of his motives. Hopefully in Aquaman 2, we can present a more well-rounded version of David Kane.”
