Ice Cube Falls for False Claim Druski Is Starring in ‘Friday’ Prequel

Written by on March 22, 2022

Ice Cube is here to shut down any rumors of a Friday reboot before they can even get off the ground.

The rap legend seemingly fell for an unsubstantiated report that a Friday reboot starring Druski and Vince Staples was in the works.

“This is blasphemy,” Cube quote-tweeted. The original user later retweeted one of their older tweets that said, “Twitter is all about lying, joking and spreading misinformation,” ultimately debunking their own claim.

Ironically, Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson seemingly fell for the same kind of fake casting report from this account a few months ago for a Boyz N The Hood remake.

Unfortunately, there are no plans for any Friday reboot in the near future. The popular comedy franchise was prepping for a fourth installment rumored to be called Last Friday, but according to Looper, Cube revealed back in 2020 that production halted after the tragic passing of John Witherspoon.

“We was cocked and loaded, you know, ready to go with the fourth Friday,” Ice Cube told Seth Meyers on his late-night show back in 2020. “Unfortunately, John Witherspoon passed away, and you know, it threw us all back… We’re still grieving over the loss of such a talented, you know, special man. He wasn’t just funny. Everybody saw his funny side, but he was also a serious, thoughtful guy.”
