Jack Harlow Addresses Leaked Drake Collab, Says It ‘Hurt My Feelings’

Written by on May 3, 2022

Ahead of the release of his second studio album, Come Home the Kids Miss You, which drops this Friday, Jack Harlow stopped by Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning on Monday to chat about his sophomore effort.

During the conversation, Harlow confirmed that the Drake-featuring “Churchill Downs,”

which leaked back in April, will appear on his new album.

The Louisville rapper went on to say that the leak that surfaced online wasn’t the finished product, revealing that fans will be hearing a new verse from him on the final version.

“It hurt my feelings,” he said about the track getting leaked. “I’m really tight about leaks. I don’t bounce my music so I haven’t had leaks in a long time.”

He continued, “Like I don’t write to my music while I’m working on an album, like it stays in the hard… The only time we get to experience it is in the studio… I don’t export demos because then you have… because you write to it and you can’t change it because you get addicted to a verse… and I don’t want no leaks.”

Harlow went on to say that the leak was particularly disappointing because of who was featured on the track. “Especially ’cause that’s an idol of mine,” he shared. “I wanted to control that moment… But, it’s destiny.”

The 24-year-old rapper also mentioned that Drake was “sad” about the track leaking, though the Toronto artist wasn’t too bothered by it all.

“He kind of, you know, nudged me like, ‘Aye, don’t trip. This was meant to happen.’ I think [with] his experience, he let me know like, ‘You think this is going to affect your life? Like it’s fine.’”

Harlow added that he “felt the energy shift” after he started hanging around Drake and saw himself receiving even more attention.

Harlow shared the tracklist and features for his soon to arrive album earlier today. Come Home the Kids Miss You will boast appearances from Lil WaynePharrellJustin Timberlake, and, as previously mentioned, Drake. According to Hits Daily Double, the album is projected to reel in around 160,000-180,000 in its debut week out.

In other news, Harlow’s “First Class” single hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart last month, making it the first time that the rapper achieved the feat.
