During Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup between the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks, a pair of mic’d up NBA referees went viral after they were captured asking one another who Jack Harlow was.

The Kentucky rapper, who was sitting courtside, was shown on the TD Garden jumbotron, which prompted a comical exchange between referees Scott Foster and Ed Malloy.

“Who’s Jack Harlow? Who’s Jack Harlow?” Foster asked Malloy, receiving a definitive “I have no idea.”

“He’s the guy over here, right here,” Foster pointed out. “He’s in that white shirt, behind you.”

“Yeah, who is he?” Malloy responded.

Foster reiterated his level of knowledge, saying, “I don’t know. Go ask him.”

A few hours after the clip went viral, Harlow took to Twitter to respond to the video by poking fun at himself.

“Clearly these mfs have never seen Narnia,” Harlow joked, referencing his resemblance to actor James McAvoy, who played Mr. Tumnus in the 2005 film The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

Though Foster and Malloy might not know who Harlow is now, that could change soon, as the rising superstar rapper prepares to release his sophomore effort, Come Home the Kids Miss You, this Friday (May 6).

Harlow has already earned his first Hot 100 No. 1 as a lead artist with “First Class,” which debuted atop the chart last month on the strength of a 2022 record 54.6 million streams, 4.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 10,600 downloads, all in its first week.

The song marks Harlow’s third top 10 hit, following the No. 2 peak of “Whats Poppin,” specifically the remix featuring DaBaby, Tory Lanez, and Lil Wayne, in 2020, and Lil Nas X’s chart-topping song, “Industry Baby.”
