Jaden Smith and Harry Hudson Reconnect on “Just Slide”

More than seven months after he released his debut album, Yesterday’s Tomorrow Night, singer-songwriter Harry Hudson is back with “Just Slide.”
The track is Hudson’s latest collaboration with Jaden Smith, following “E,” “Ninety (Electric),” and “Fallen.” Hudson spoke about his friendship with the SYRE artist during an interview with Build back in January.
“Me and Jaden actually did not really like each other, because we knew each other growing up,” said Hudson, who was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin’s lymphoma several years ago. “I think he was 14 at the time when I got sick. And he was like, ‘You have to live with me because I’m going to cure you from cancer.’”
Hudson said he declined Jaden’s offer, which sparked a “weird beef.” But shortly after, they decided to bury the hatchet.
“Ever since then, I’ve lived with him, and I’ve seen him every day since, or talked to him every day since […] That’s literally my brother.”
It’s unclear if “Just Slide” is a standalone record or if it’ll appear on a full-length project.
You can stream the single now on Apple Music/iTunes or below via Spotify.
Hudson is currently on the road for his Can Cowboys Cry North American Tour. The trek kicked off in Portland this week, and will include stops in Dallas, L.A., New York, and Toronto, before concluding Dec. 16 in Salt Lake City. Check out the full schedule below.
