Japan Airlines Introduces New Map That Tells You Where Infants Will Be Seated

Written by on September 27, 2019

Between navigating the long lines at airport security, coming to terms with the possibility of a delay, and dealing with other people in their own various stages of scatterbrain behavior, flying is already a stressful ordeal. The last thing you probably want is for that eagerly anticipated prolonged silence in the airplane to be endlessly interrupted by a screaming baby.

Luckily, Japan Airlines has introduced a new seating chart that will let you know where a child will be seated as you book your flight, CNN reports. “Passengers traveling with children between 8 days and 2 years old who select their seats on the JAL website will have a child icon displayed on their seats on the seat selection screen,” the airline’s website reads.

Japan Airlines warns that flights booked solely through their website will have the baby icon, and the feature will not available when there’s a change in aircraft.

Reactions to the news was mixed on Twitter with some thankful for the changes while others not so much.
