Jason Sudeikis makes a triumphant return to his old stomping grounds.

The Emmy-winning actor hit the Saturday Night Live stage this week to serve as the fourth guest host of season 47. Sudeikis began writing for the comedy sketch series 2003, and went on to become a regular cast member in 2005. Throughout his eight-year run on the SNL stage, Sudeikis entertained audiences with some of the show’s most memorable impersonations and recurring characters. He portrayed everyone from Joe Biden and Mitt Romney to Vance the Backup Dancer and Judge Marshall T. Boudreaux to Officer Sikorsky and even the devil.

Sudeikis reflected on his time with SNL in this week’s opening monologue. He talked about leaving the show in 2013 and what life has been like for him. He also shared his advice on how to get Lorne Michaels to notice them. “Honestly, swear to God, I found myself just giving the same advice to every single person. I was like, ‘Win an Emmy.’” he joked.

2021 has been a banner year for Sudeikis, who scored multiple Emmys for Ted Lasso, his Apple TV+ series in which he plays the titular soccer coach. He also recently starred in the crime-thriller South of Heaven and was tapped to voice a lead character of in the upcoming animated series Hit-Monkey.
