JAY-Z’s “Brooklyn Go Hard” f/ Santigold Released on Tidal

Written by on July 1, 2019

Seemingly in celebration of recent free agency news, JAY-Z and Santigold‘s “Brooklyn Go Hard” has finally been uploaded to streaming services.

The song that served as the theme for 2008’s Notorious and featured prominently in the marketing for the Jackie Robinson biopic 42 had previously only been available as a download. Shortly after the news broke that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving would head to the Barclays Center, the song popped up on Jigga’s own streaming service Tidal.

The more-than-a-decade old single got a push on social media from Tidal’s Twitter and Tidal host Elliott Wilson.

The social media push echoes the way that Kevin Durant shared the news that he’s going to Brooklyn. He announced it on the Instagram account of The Boardroom, a webseries looking into the intersection of sports and business produced by KD. ESPN reports that his deal is for $164 million over four years. Reportedly, the Warriors were willing to offer substantially more. Durant may well be out for the entirety of next season with an injury he suffered during the NBA Finals.
