Jeremy Lin Get Emotional Talking About Free Agency

While free agency has been bountiful for a lot of NBA players, Jeremy Lin hasn’t had a pleasant experience.
During an event in Taiwan, Lin got emotional when opening up about his struggle to find a new franchise.
“In English, there’s a saying and it says, ‘Once you hit rock bottom the only way is up,'” Lin says to the crowd. “But rock bottom seems to be getting more and more rock bottom for me. So, free agency has been tough ’cause I feel like in some ways the NBA has given up on me.”
Last year, Lin was a part of the championship-winning Toronto Raptors, but played 3.4 minutes and averaged 1.1 points during the playoff run. After losing key pieces like Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green to free agency, Toronto decided not to extend Lin an offer. This placed Lin in the free agency pool where he quickly realized that the excitement of “Linsanity” has long been forgotten.
Throughout his career, teams have run into trouble when trying to figure out where Lin fits into their scheme. At 30 years old, franchises might be more inclined to sign a younger, more athletic player. But with over two months before the first NBA game, it’s still possible for Lin to find a home.
