‘Jersey Shore’ Star Mike Sorrentino Turning Himself in for Prison Sentence

Written by on January 15, 2019

Jersey Shore‘s Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino pleaded guilty to a tax fraud case in January 2018, and now he’s revealed that he’s ready to ready to serve his sentence. As TMZ reports, Sorrentino’s attorney Kristen Santillo confirmed that he’s turning himself in on Tuesday to start his eight-month sentence at the Federal Correctional Insituation in Otisville, New York.

The reality TV star and his brother Marc pleaded guilty to seven charges between them, with a reported $8.9 million in unpaid income from 2014. They were both charged with one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States, but Marc faced three more counts of filing false tax returns for 2010, 2011, and 2012. They were both indicted on tax charges back in 2017.

Before he set on his way to hand himself in on Tuesday morning, Sorrentino provided fans with his prison mailing address.

From the back of a car on his way to serve his sentence, he hosted an Instagram Live stream. “The comeback is always greater than the setback,” he said to his viewers with a smile. It’s clear that he was recording for his YouTube channel at the same time, promising that it’ll make its way online soon.

Check out what he had to say in a clip of his stream above.
