Joe Buck to Reportedly Leave Fox to Join ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Football’

Written by on March 12, 2022

According to a report from Andrew Marchand of the New York PostJoe Buck is gearing up to leave Fox and is expected to sign a five-year contract with ESPN.

Buck will become the new voice of Monday Night Football alongside Troy Aikman, who will reportedly serve as an analyst for the broadcast.

Per Marchand, Buck is “expected to sign a contract in the five-year, $60-75 million range with ESPN.” The 52-year-old announcer still has a one-year $11 million deal left with Fox, but the media company will let him out of his contract “as a good gesture for his years of service.”

The news arrives just two weeks after the Post reported that Aikman and ESPN agreed to a deal, which will reportedly be worth $92.5 million for five years.

Aikman previously said he was talking to Amazon about joining the streamer’s new Thursday Night Football team.

“I’ll be as totally transparent and honest as I can be, and when I say ‘as I can be,’ there’s no restrictions,” he told The Athletic in January. “I’m not hiding anything. There are conversations that are taking place. And to be honest with you, I honestly do not know how this is going to shake out.”

Nothing has officially been announced as of yet. Stay tuned for more info.
