Joe James Returns With Summer-Ready, Grime-Tinged Project ‘Crawl’

Only 6 months into the year, Joe James is back with his fourth project of 2022 in Crawl.
Following the successful hat-trick of Bruce, Pure Connery, and Get Money, Go Missing—which illustrated the breadth of the East Londoner’s artistry—Crawl is yet another reminder of Joe James’ mastery in his unique lane.
The 11-track project is only graced with one feature from Luton’s finest, BXKS, showing just how stacked James’ own vault is. One may think that producing so many projects in such a short time may negatively impact the quality of music, but that couldn’t be further from the case here. Crawl, a breezy, grime-tinged offering, is meant to be considered the sequel to his 2021 project, Jöetry, and features his signature laidback rhymes which the artist describes as “RnJ”.
