Juelz Santana has started his 27 months prison sentence.
The 37-year-old rapper will reportedly serve his time at a medium security federal correctional institution in Hopewell, Virginia called Petersburg Medium FCI, the Blast reports.
Santana, real name LaRon Louis James, got caught up in March of 2018 for an incident that went down at Newark Liberty International Airport. The rapper fled after TSA agents found a loaded handgun and Oxycodone pills in his carry-on bag. A few days later, he turned himself over to authorities. Santana later pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a weapon on an aircraft.
“I’m not a bad guy,” Santana said back in May. “Family man, just praying for the best outcome, you know what I mean? Put it in God’s hands at the end of the day.”
Earlier this month, The Diplomats‘ Diplomatic Ties documentary dropped on Tidal. The documentary was released on the heels of the group’s album of the same name.
