Justin Bieber Reportedly Contracted Lyme Disease and Is Now Recovering

Justin Bieber is set to debut his YouTube docuseries Seasons later this month, and in it he is expected to reveal that he contracted lyme disease last year. TMZ reports Bieber will share the revelation in Seasons, which will premiere Jan. 27. Sources explained that he went most of the year undiagnosed, but he is now on the mend and receiving the correct treatment as he gears up to drop his next album.
Biebs made it clear that he was battling depression in a big way in 2019, and his contraction of lyme disease reportedly had a lot to do with it. The infectious disease is spread by ticks and is relatively common across North America. If untreated it will lead to skin redness, fatigue, joint pains, and severe headaches. Doctors failed to pin down what exactly was wrong with him throughout the year, and as such he was prescribed all sorts of medications.
As TMZ added, Bieber was spotted last September with what appeared to be an IV drip in his arm. Some of the medication he was given when his condition was unknown caused him to break out in acne. Fortunately he’s apparently feeling a lot better these days now that he’s been properly diagnosed, but it would explain why he kept delaying new music after countless teases in 2019. His team reportedly wanted to make sure he was healthy enough to go on tour and support an album rollout before he released anything new.
Seasons will hit YouTube on Jan. 27.
