Kate Beckinsale’s Ex Matt Rife Gives Pete Davidson Relationship Advice: ‘Run’

There’s nothing worse than a bitter ex, which is exactly what comedian Matt Rife came off as when he gave Pete Davidson some “tips” on dating Rife’s former girlfriend, Kate Beckinsale.
When TMZ caught up with Rife after his Monday night set at Los Angeles’ Laugh Factory, the comedian seemed to still be in stage-mode because he offered some cheeky advice to Davidson.
“Man to man… Run,” Rife said after being asked what advice he would give Pete on sustaining his relationship with Beckinsale. “Enjoy it while you can. I hope they’re both happy. I hope it can build to where it’s an established, good relationship.”
Outside of basically telling Davidson to escape while he can, Rife appeared to be giving unbiased advice. But given his problematic history, one could easily take these words as comments sprinkled with salt. The former Wild’n Out castmember is no stranger to controversy. In 2016, after getting into a slight Twitter scuffle with popular Twitter user Brandon Wardell, Rife’s racist and homophobic past was revealed to the world. Users resurfaced a litany of old tweets where Rife spewed several homophobic slurs as well as using the word “n*gga” to solidify his points. This led to Rife being slaughtered on the timeline for most of the summer.
Despite this, Rife did frame his “warning” to Davidson by explaining that his year-long relationship with Beckinsale was “complicated.”
“Complicated, for sure. A lot of ups and downs. But she’s moved on and I’m happy… I don’t really have any solid advice but to be careful,” Rife continued before stating that there’s “not a chance” he would double-back for a relationship with Beckinsale.
But based on the photos of Pete and Kate that set the internet ablaze earlier this week, Rife won’t have that option anytime soon.
