Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock have finalized their divorce with the singer and talk show host agreeing to a one-time, tax-free payment of $1,326,161 million, in addition to monthly child support, according to court documents obtained by The Blast.
Clarkson will be required to provide $45,601 in monthly child support for their two children, River Rose and Remington Alexander. Blackstone will receive $115,000 from Clarkson in spousal support per month until Jan. 31, 2024. He was originally seeking $2.35 million annually, split between monthly payments of $150,000 in spousal support and $45,601 in child support.
They have agreed to joint custody of their kids, who will receive the COVID-19 vaccine since River and Remington are expected to split time between their parents’ respective homes in two different states. Until they are fully vaccinated, Clarkson will provide Blackstock with $50,000 as “reimbursement” for use of a private plane. After receiving their shots, they will transition to flying first class.
Both homes in Montana have been awarded to Clarkson, but Blackstock will be living in one of them until June and will be required to pay his now ex-wife $2,000 per month in rent. She will keep the family pets while he gets the “farm cattle, livestock, stock dogs, and horses.” They will each lay claim to their own set of cars, but he will get to keep his “golf simulator and a couple of Patek Philippe watches.”
Clarkson filed for divorce in June 2020, citing the tried and true “irreconcilable differences.” The two had been married for seven years. Last month, she filed to legally change her name to Kelly Brianne, her first and middle name. The singer explained in her petition that “my new name more fully reflects who I am.” A hearing for the name change has been set for March 28.
