Kevin Spacey Settles Sexual Assault Suit After Accuser’s Death

Another sexual assault case against Kevin Spacey has come to an end, just months after the accuser’s death.
According to Variety, the disgraced actor has reached a settlement with the estate of the late plaintiff—an anonymous massage therapist who reportedly died of cancer in early September. The man had accused Spacey of fondling his genitals and attempting to kiss him during a 2016 massage session at a private residence in Malibu. Spacey denied the allegations, and the case was set to go to court in June 2020.
Last month, the accuser’s son was declared the administrator of his father’s estate and subsequently became the plaintiff in the suit. Variety reports the special administrator and Spacey have filed a stipulation to dismiss the complaint with prejudice, which means the case cannot be reopened once the settlement is finalized. Each party reportedly agreed to pay their own legal costs. No other details about the agreement have been revealed.
Spacey has faced multiple accusations of sexual assault over the several years. Back in July, a Massachusetts judge dismissed a sexual assault lawsuit filed by a man who claims Spacey groped him at Nantucket’s Club Car bar in 2016. The accuser, who was 18 at the time, accused Spacey of buying him alcohol and claimed the actor stuck his hands down his pants to grab his genitals. Spacey pleaded not guilty to the charges, and a judge dismissed the case “due to the unavailability of the complaining witness.”
Ari Behn, another Spacey accuser, died by an apparent suicide on last week on Christmas Day. Behn, 47, had accused Spacey of groping him in 2007; however, Behn never took legal action against 60-year-old actor.
