Khalid Shares New Single “Up All Night”

Written by on November 14, 2019

Following a week of anticipation, Khalid has returned with his new single “Up All Night.”

The 21-year-old artist began teasing the record via social media, sharing its purple-tinted cover art and brief review from his mom.

“I love the energy this song gives me,” his mother wrote in a text message share on Twitter.

“Makes me wanna do the running man,” Khalid responded.

The song features an infectious, upbeat melody as well as a message about gratitude, getting older, and dealing with “thoughts that keep [him] up all night.”

“‘Up All Night’ is a song that I wrote while on tour. It’s really special to me and I’m so excited that I am able to share it with my fans so quickly,” Khalid said in a statement. “I’ve been touring the world, and interacting with my fans each night has been really inspiring. I’m working hard on some more new music to share with you guys soon!”

“Up All Night” arrives just weeks after Khalid delivered “Triggered,” his Major Lazer-assisted joint for the Death Stranding soundtrack.

You can stream the single now on all major platforms. There’s currently no word on whether “Up All Night” is a loosie or part of his upcoming EP.

Khalid’s last full-length project was his sophomore album Free Spirit, which debuted at No. 1 back in April. Since then, the El Paso native has appeared on tracks with artsts like GoldLink, Ed Sheeran, Majid Jordan, and Pink.

Khalid is also up for four trophies at the 2019 American Music Awards: Album Soul/R&B (Free Spirit), Pop/Rock Male Artist, Male Artist Soul/R&B, and Song Soul/R&B (“Talk”). The ceremony will air Nov. 24 on ABC.
