Kid Cudi Teases Steve Aoki’s ‘Bill & Ted’ Remix of 2010 Hit “Erase Me” at Hard Summer Fest

“Erase Me,” a classic Kid Cudi cut circa 2010, is getting a reinvention in the name of Bill & Ted Face the Music.
Cudi was on the lineup for this weekend’s HARD Summer Festival in Southern California, tucking a portion of the original version of the Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager track into his headlining set before halting that in the name of a surprise unveiling.
“So I just wanted to do a little bit of the original because that’s my shit,” Cudi told the crowd before debuting what he considers a “tasty” update on the song, which originally featured a verse from Kids See Ghosts partner Kanye West. “But this next piece, what you’re about to hear now, my good friend Steve Aoki, he remixed ‘Erase Me.’ I thought it would be cool to do for this movie I’m shooting, Bill & Ted, so I thought I’d debut it tonight. It’d only be right for us to lose our fucking minds together for the first time.”
See a longer clip of the moment in question below, then keep an ear out for the remix’s proper release.
Cudi was announced back in June as having joined the cast of the third entry in the Bill & Ted franchise, which last added to its legacy with the 1991 sequel Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. Original stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter will return, while details on Cudi’s role remain a mystery to the general public.
As part of the rollout for his next album Entergalactic, Cudi has teamed up with Kenya Barris and Netflix for a “first of its kind” adult animated series.
