Kid Rock to Cancel Shows Where Venues Enforce COVID Vaccine, Mask Mandates

Written by on January 29, 2022

Ahead of his upcoming Bad Reputation tour, Kid Rock is assuring his fans that he won’t perform at any venues that have COVID-19 restrictions in place.

In a video posted to Instagram on Thursday, the 51-year-old singer threatened to cancel shows on his upcoming tour should venues require concertgoers to wear masks or show proof of vaccination.

“There’s been a lot of talk about vaccine mandates and venues. People saying, ‘I’m not going to that venue because of the vaccine mandate’ and this, that and the other,” Rock said in the clip. “Trust me, we’ve done all our research on this and the consensus says that all this is going to be done, if there are any at these venues, I’m not aware of any, but if there are any, they’re going to be gone by the time we get to your city.”

Rock added, “Trust me, you don’t have to worry. You’ll be getting your money back because I won’t be showing up either.”

The Detroit native went on to reveal he’s already scratched concert dates in Buffalo, New York and Toronto, Canada because he didn’t want to deal with mask or vaccine mandates.

“It’s actually kind of unfortunate,” he explained. “We actually scratched Buffalo, New York off the list because of that, and Toronto, Canada, and several other cities we were looking at, cause, ya know, I’m not one way or the other, but I don’t want to deal with that shit either and I know that you don’t.”

The news arrives just days after Rock announced the 26-show tour, which is slated to kick off April 6 in Evansville, Indiana, and will conclude on Sept. 17 near his hometown, in Clarkston, Michigan.
