Lana Del Rey Says ‘Norman F*cking Rockwell’ Will Be Out Next Month

Lana Del Rey said that her new album Norman Fucking Rockwell is coming next month.
The singer dropped the news in the middle of a set at Spain’s FIB Benicàssim Festival. The hotly anticipated album has been hanging over fans heads for nearly a year now, with Lana sharing singles like “hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have – but i have it,” “Venice Bitch,” and “Mariners Apartment Complex.” While we haven’t yet heard the title track, Del Rey said that the song is about an artist who refuses to be humble about his talent.
“It’s kind of about this guy who is such a genius artist but he thinks he’s the shit and he knows it and he like won’t shut up talking about it. So often I ended up with these creative types or whatever, and you know, they just go on and on about themselves, and I’m like, ‘Yeah, yeah,'” she explained in an interview with Zane Lowe. “But there’s a little bit of merit to it also. They are so good. I just like the title track so much that I was like, ‘OK, I definitely want the record to also be called that.'”
Get yourself hyped by listening to the Jack Antonoff-produced “Mariners” and the 10-minute-long guitar noodle-exercise “Venice Bitch” below.
There’s no word yet if Lana’s cover of Sublime’s “Doin’ Time” will make its way onto the album or if Del Rey was just feeling particularly summery.
