Lauryn Hill Apologizes After Starting European Shows 2 Hours Late

Lauryn Hill might be the least punctual singer in the world. It’s absolutely no secret that Hill frequently shows up to her sets hours late, that is, if she shows up at all.
But her French fans apparently didn’t know the deal, and things got heated after the legend arrived on stage two hours late and only performed a 30 minute set. She also reportedly did the same thing in Brussels, Belgium.
I get it, y’all paid for tickets, but Hill already explained two years ago why she’s always late. Y’all should know what to expect. “Because I care so deeply about the artistic process, I scrutinize, have perfectionist tendencies, and want space made for spontaneity, which is not an easy process, with the many moving parts on the road,” she said in 2016.
She issued an apology to her European fans, blaming the delay on production issues. The singer is currently in Europe for the 20th anniversary tour of Miseducation. Read her letter below.
