Just because he’s currently in jail doesn’t mean there’s any end in sight for 6ix9ine‘s legal problems. In fact, the incarcerated 22-year-old rapper has a new problem on his plate in the form of a lawsuit brought against him by promoters who are accusing him of backing out of his own show.
TMZ reports that 6ix9ine was supposed to perform for $60,000 during Howard University’s Homecoming Weekend back in October, but that instead he allegedly was a no-show. The promoters involved with putting the event together are now attempting to get at least $300,000 in damages after they say they had to turn thousands of attendees away. Also listed in the court documents as defendants are 6ix9ine’s management team.
Organizers for the event said they made nearly $200,000 in sales before dispersing the crowd (which they said they did for fear that a riot would bust out). Anyway, in relation to the punishments he’s facing for his other legal issues, it’s possible this isn’t even on the radar.
