2019 was a breakout year for Lil Baby. He nabbed a Grammy nomination, was named Best New Artist at the BET Awards, secured a number of Billboard hits, and collaborated with some of hip-hop’s biggest names. But the ATL rapper isn’t about to rest on his laurels, and says he intends to reach new heights with sophomore album My Turn.
“It’s my turn in music, period. It’s my turn to go number one, it’s my turn to have three songs back-to-back on the radio. It’s just my turn to really show them how I’m coming,” he said this month during MTN DEW’s NBA All-Star Weekend interactive experience. “Even though some people feel like I’ve [already had] my time, this is going to show them how things will be when my turn really starts. I don’t even feel like I’m in my prime.”
My Turn, which was initially set to drop at the end of 2019, delivers 20 tracks, including the previously released “Woah,” “Sum 2 Prove,” and “Catch the Sun,” which also appeared on the Queen & Slim soundtrack. The album is also stacked with notable features, such as Lil Wayne (“Forever”), Lil Uzi Vert (“Commercial”), Young Thug (“We Should”), Gunna (“Heatin Up”), and Future (“Live Off My Closet”).
You can listen to My Turn now on all major platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify.
