Baby, who Complex named the best rapper of 2020, is hoping to see that title resurface for 2022, as he took to Instagram and Twitter with some cryptic messages about what’s looking like potential new music.
“It’s Gone Be A Nastyyyyy Summer,” Baby wrote on Monday morning, adding via additional tweets that it’s “my turn again” and that he plans to “drop a video every few weeks until [exploding head emojis].”
The emojis weren’t all, as Baby also went to his Instagram Stories to share a photo of himself counting money with the caption “This summer mines.”
Of course, Baby hasn’t been entirely silent since releasing 2020’s My Turn. Last year, he teamed up with Lil Durk for the collaborative album The Voice of the Heroes, and he just recently linked with Nicki Minaj for her two latest singles “Do We Have A Problem?” and “Bussin.” The former debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Just last week, Baby tweeted that his album was “almost done” and that he’s got some new music on the way. While not much else is known about Baby’s upcoming effort, he does have some festival sets fast approaching, like at Dreamville Festival at the top of April, so fans are eagerly anticipating the arrival of some new tracks. Stay tuned.
