Lil Nas X Stars in Coach’s New ‘Courage to Be Real’ Campaign

Lil Nas X stars in Coach’s new Courage to Be Real campaign, which includes a short film and official images captured by Petra Collins.
“My whole career has been about breaking down doors, and this campaign represents everything I’ve overcome so far,” X said of his new Coach campaign. “It’s about walking into new chapters of life, new experiences, and new versions of myself, and it’s rooted in authenticity and self-expression—two things I really care about. It was really fun collaborating with Stuart and Petra to bring this to life.”
The Stuart in question is Coach’s Creative Director, Stuart Vevers, who considers both X and Collins to be “artists who have changed the world around them by being themselves.”
Collins’ film gives viewers a visual journey through X’s career thus far by placing the artist in a series of scenarios intended to represent different since-closed chapters in his life. Per a press release, a director’s cut of the short film (the original version of which can be seen above) is slated to be released this week.

In September, X kicked off his Long Live Montero tour, complete with a custom Coach wardrobe.
“They truly captured my vision, and everything ties together in the show perfectly,” X, whose appearance in the Courage to Be Real campaign marks his first as a global ambassador for the brand, said at the time.
X is currently fresh off the release of his latest track “Star Walkin,” which also provides the soundtrack to the newly unveiled Collins short.
