Lil Peep Documentary ‘Everybody’s Everything’ to Make World Premiere at SXSW Festival

Written by on March 4, 2019

Everybody’s Everything, a feature-length documentary on the late pop innovator Lil Peep, will have its global premiere at this month’s SXSW festival in Austin.

The 115-minute doc will premiere as part of the festival’s 24 Beats Per Second screening section, which also includes new features centered on Johnny Cash, Justice, and more. First revealed in a 2018 New York Times profile on the work behind Peep’s excellent album Come Over When You’re Sober Pt. 2, Everybody’s Everything promises an “intimate, humanistic portrait” of “an artist who attempted to be all things to all people.”

The routinely brilliant Tree of Life director Terrence Malick, a friend of Peep’s family, is credited as an executive producer alongside Sarah Stennett and Peep’s mother Liza Womack. Sebastian Jones and Ramez Silyan are listed as co-directors. Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump, who previously put his film scoring prowess to good use with last year’s Crush Pictures thriller Spell, is handling music.

Over the weekend, Womack shared the film’s three festival dates. An official Instagram account for the film has also been launched.

Just last month, Stump appeared on the posthumous Peep single “I’ve Been Waiting” alongside Peep’s “Sunlight on Your Skin” collaborator Makonnen. The song, which got a vertical video last week also featuring FOB’s Pete Wentz, began with an idea Makonnen had prior to linking up with Peep for some prolific sessions that would eventually result in a full album’s worth of material.

“[Peep] mentioned them as artists that he wanted to work with,” Makonnen told Complex last month of the importance of the collab. “And he always told me I was one of his favorite artists, and it was a dream come true working with me. We were mutually fans of each other, and respected each other very much, so I think it’s a great collaboration for all of us.”
