Lil Tecca’s ‘We Love You Tecca’ Debuts in the Top 5 on Billboard 200

Written by on September 8, 2019

Lil Tecca’s debut album We Love You Tecca has landed at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.

The project moved 68,000 equivalent album units, 4,000 of which were in album sales and 64,000 in SEA units, Billboard reports. The album has been galvanized by the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 single “Ransom,” which has spent the last two weeks at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart.

Tecca most recently implied that he’ll be retiring from music. In a series of candid tweets from last week, he wrote, “could care less bout sum $$ if im not happy,” adding “I love y’all but this shit won’t b continuing as long as y’all thought.”

He continued, “there’s like 30 other rappers that sound just like me y’all will b good.”

Tool, Taylor Swift, and Lana Del Ray also hit No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 spots, respectively.

Tool’s album Fear Inoculum—the group’s first album in 13 years—has debuted at No. 1 with the biggest week for any rock album in over a year. The album earned 270,000 equivalent album units; of that amount, 248,000 were in album sales. Fear Inoculum is Tool’s third No. 1, following 2006’s 10,000 Days and 2001’s Lateralus.

Taylor Swift’s Lover returned to the new Billboard 200 but has fallen from No. 1 to No. 2 during its second week.

Lana Del Rey’s Norman Fucking Rockwell! has debuted at No. 3 with 104,000 equivalent album units, 66,000 of which were in album sales. Norman is Del Rey’s sixth top 10 offering. Her last album, 2017’s Lust for Life opened at No. 1 as well.
