Lil Wayne Cuts Set Short, Tells Crowd ‘This Might Be My Last Night’ at Blink-182 Tour Stop
Written by SOURCE on July 12, 2019
At last night’s stop on the blink-182 and Lil Wayne tour, featuring opening support from Neck Deep, Weezy cut his set short and told the crowd it “might” be his last night on the run that’s scheduled to careen across the U.S. through late September.
“I just want the people to know, if you wondering, please forgive me but I am so not used to performing to a crowd and there’s not too many, you know, like still, [filling in],” Wayne said during his set in Bristow, Virginia Thursday night. “That’s not my swag. I’m not sure how long I’m gonna be able to do this tour, but make some noise to blink-182 for including me anyway. This might be my last night, though. Let’s go.”
While it’s highly unlikely Wayne will actually be dropping off an entire tour in this manner, especially when considering contracts and such, the moment was a bummer for attendees.
I definitely know what it’s like to feel like the crowd isn’t feeling you. But you gotta power through it. I thought Lil Wayne was rocking it tonight at the Blink show but then he walked off stage. I think people were just taking it in because they hadn’t seen him before.

Hey @LilTunechi. We heard you’re done with the Blink 182 tour. If you’d like to join the Ten Years of Constellations tour, we’ve got a slot for you. 🤙🏽

Really upset about Lil Wayne prematurely ending his performance last night. I wish he stuck it through. Because of this, so many people who maybe would’ve given mixed-genre shows a chance are gonna close themselves off to the idea now
(I don’t even listen to him)

@LilTunechi @TMZ My dude you opened your concert “without us, you ain’t shit” but then you leave us after 5 songs when we waited in the damn rain for 3 hours. PayPal me my gas and ticket money #blink182

The tour sees blink-182 performing its 1999 album Enema of the State in full and was marketed as a co-headlining stint. Weezy, however, has been playing right before blink on the stops that are in the bag thus far. In addition to arena-sized tours of this stature almost always featuring latecomers who show up solely for the final act of the night, the Bristow show’s Weezy set attendance was arguably complicated further due to regional weather issues.
Friday marks a day off for the blink and Weezy tour, with the routing set to resume Saturday in Bangor, Maine. At the time of this writing, neither blink nor Weezy’s reps had made a public comment regarding the Bristow incident.
