While Let’s Start Here remains in heavy rotation, Lil Yachty has released a new track to ensure fans remain satiated.
The song, titled “Strike (Holster),” has been the subject of relentless speculation since first being teased on social media late last year. It arrives less than three months after Yachty garnered widespread acclaim with the release of his fifth studio album, the aforementioned Let’s Start Here.
Drake—whose 21 Savage collab Her Loss featured key contributions from Yachty—was quick to let his Instagram followers know that despite releasing his own new song “Search and Rescue” simultaneously, his friend’s latest drop has become his “anthem”:

Among those with effusive praise for Yachty’s latest album was Questlove, who told fans in January that Let’s Start Here had him “hyped about music’s future.” In a detailed Instagram post outlining his admiration for the LP, the Roots drummer and Oscar-winning Summer of Soul director cited past examples of “departure albums” across music history, including classics from the Beatles and Prince.
The record was further solidified with the recent pair of well-received, Diana Gordon-featuring Saturday Night Live performances, both of which can be viewed below.
Later this month, Yachty will be in Virginia Beach for the 2023 edition of Pharrell’s Something in the Water festival. Others on the lineup include Kid Cudi, 100 gecs, Flo Milli, Lil Uzi Vert, Latto, Lil Wayne, Machine Gun Kelly, Maren Morris, Skrillex, Wet Leg, and many more.
