Long Island Heroin Dealers Accepted Air Jordans as Payment

Fifteen people from Nassau County in Long Island, New York have been arrested for their involvement in a massive heroin ring tied to three three fatal overdoses. The New York Post reports that it earned $30,000 per week in profits. Among the organization were a pair of members that actually accepted Air Jordans as payment for the drugs.
Luis Rivera and Orlando Rodriguez, the alleged leaders of the ring, had their apartment in East New York raided where cops found 175 pairs of Jordans, $383,000 in cash, as well as another $325,000 in heroin. The arrests come as the result of a four-month investigation
It is said that this was the largest known seizing of heroin in Nassau County’s history with a combined total of over $2 million seized in cash and heroin.
