Louis Vuitton Reveals Virgil Abloh’s “Daybreak” Pre-Fall 2022 Collection

Louis Vuitton continues to honor the life and legacy of iconic designer Virgil Abloh by revealing the late creator’s Pre-Fall 2022 collection, dubbed “Daybreak.”
The luxury fashion house unveiled the collection on Tuesday with a lookbook that featured some of its unique pieces set in the backdrop of Lyon, France. Prior to his passing, Abloh explained his process of creating the Pre-Fall collection, saying that his focus was on making clothes that were actually wearable.
“My philosophy is very much informed by the clothes that people actually wear,” Virgil said. “What I do is an analysis of a generation: what do people buy and why do they wear it? That question naturally creates an equal interest in tradition as it does in changing tradition. But it’s also about challenging myself and exploring different land. That is creative freedom.”
Some of these wearable pieces that embody Virgil’s philosophy of functional clothing include a wool varsity jacket that comes with LV monogram leather sleeves, a multi-colored mohair cardigan, an assortment of denim pieces, and a variety of other pants and tops that vary in material. What all of the pieces share, however, is a specific look and feel that can be mixed and matched with other items from the collection.
Virgil Abloh’s Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2022 men’s “Daybreak” collection will be available in stores and online starting in March 2022.
