Louis Vuitton’s Virgil Abloh Book to Feature Reflections From Cudi & More
Written by SOURCE on September 7, 2022
Arriving this month, the Louis Vuitton: Virgil Abloh hardcover book is set to feature hundreds of images, as well as “personal reflections” from those who knew the late designer best.
The book, which will be offered from Assouline and Louis Vuitton with two collectible covers, features words by London-based writer Anders Christian Madsen and is divided into eight chapters to align with each of the eight menswear shows crafted by Abloh.
Both the Classic Balloon Cover and Classic Cartoon Cover editions of the book are currently listed at $120 on the Assouline site, both with a release date of Sept. 15. The Ultimate Edition, meanwhile, will be going for $1,200 and is listed as including a complimentary pair of white gloves and a signature vans tote. The Ultimate Edition, per a press release, is also packaged in a collectible box inspired by the shipping crate took at the heart of Abloh’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection.
In addition to hundreds of images and a selection of “Abloh-isms” included throughout the book, readers can expect reflections from a number of those who worked closely with the multi-hyphenate during his years of continuously inspiring creative exploration. Among those confirmed to be included in the book are Kid Cudi, Kendall Jenner, Naomi Campbell, Luka Sabbat, NIGO®, and more.
Amid the recent chatter about who may be succeeding Abloh at LV, designer Tremaine Emory spoke with Mike DeStefano for Complex, touching on everything from the forever quality of Abloh’s legacy and why the “true brand” is the artist himself. Read the full exchange here.
