I love Madonna. I have always known from the time she came out in 1984 that she’s someone special. She has made an impact on society that was needed to awaken our minds so reality could sink in. Papa Don’t Preach sets up an young woman’s decision to keep her unborn baby is one primary example in choice when it comes to abortion. God Control sets up another example about gun control and the devastating effects on loved ones of victims. I can sympathize with Ms. Gonzalez being an victim of the Parkland shootings but in defense of Madonna, we need to really ask ourselves who is out there with dark issues and having an gun? We don’t know who, what or where tragedy might happen for which I pray for no more violence but it can be prevented if we have a keen sense of security within ourselves to be aware of surroundings that we’re in and people we encounter. Maybe we as an community as a whole could make an difference like Madonna is trying to make as she has done with some of her past videos.
