Get familiar with tomorrow’s stars today, and discover what drives them to create and push boundaries. For our second episode, we spent some time with UMI in Los Angeles
The Seattle-born singer, songwriter, and musician is creating a space for healing and spiritual growth through her music and live shows. Inspired by empowering female artists like Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, and SZA, UMI’s path has taken her from posting covers on YouTube to reaching millions of people with her inviting neo-soul and R&B sound. “I was just trying to make [the DIY approach] work because I knew my purpose was to create music,” UMI tells us in the latest episode of Making It, reflecting on her artistic evolution and personal growth.
