So what do we think 2026 is gonna look like for pop music?

I figured I'd ask now and not later because 2025 is practically over for the charts and the next 3 weeks are gonna just be nothing but Golden, Ophelia, Ordinary, and Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas.

Any expected shakeups, continued artist momentum, comebacks, guesses as to which songs may rise to become hits that already exist now but haven't peaked high yet?

Well congrats to Mariah to be at 1 again this year, btw also congrats cuz Wham is at 2, I hope this year they can take the spot , it would be amazing. We're so close to Christmas and I really like to see a lot of carols here. Btw Ordinary , The fate of Ophelia and Golden are the only songs (not carols) that are in the top 10 but I think they'll be out very soon because of Christmas

    Leaving this week:

    The Marías – Paranoia
    Entering this week:
Clipse ft. Kendrick Lamar & Pusha T – Chains & Whips
The Smashing Pumpkins – Appels + Oranjes

    Fun fact about this week:
Underneath my top 10, number 16 is an old song that I’ve already loved for years making a re-entry due to its use in the recently released new season of Stranger Things, and the song is Rockin’ Robin by Michael Jackson!

I actually prefer the original song by Bobby Day but this one is really good too and I thought since it’s reigniting the love for me all over again, I’d give it a re-appearance in my top 20. Been listening to it more.

    You do rock, Robin Buckley.

Outside of the holiday entries, we’ve had the same Top 3 for the past seven weeks. I’m getting especially tired of ‘Ordinary’ now. Hopefully we see a change in the new year.

Congratulations to Mariah on tying the record, although my highlight of the week is easily ‘Last Christmas’ hitting a new peak. Seeing Wham! at #1 would be a remarkable end to what’s been an otherwise disappointing year for the charts.
