Mario Chalmers Rips Former Teammate LeBron James, Says ‘Nobody Fears’ Him

Written by on March 20, 2023

Even after riding LeBron’s James’ coattails to two rings and four straight NBA Finals appearances, Mario Chalmers has decided to throw shade at his former teammate.

Chalmers, who was (at best) the seventh-most important player on the Heat’s back-to-back championship teams in 2012 and 2013 (behind LeBron, Dwyane Wade, Chris Brosh, Ray Allen, Mike Miller, and Shane Battier), appeared on the Playmaker HQ podcast this week, where he felt the need to point out that “nobody fears LeBron.”

“Nobody fears Bron,” Chalmers shared. “Nobody’s like, ‘Damn, I gotta go play against Bron tonight.’ Nobody said that. I don’t know why, because I seen people be scared when they actually line up to him, but they’re not scared thinking about that matchup.”

Of course, Chalmers, as with every Michael Jordan Is The GOAT defender, had to discredit LeBron while praising MJ. The former NBA player (Mario has been out the league since 2017, despite being two years younger than King James) reminded listeners of the Playmaker HQ pod that Mike’s peers didn’t treat Jordan like LeBron’s peers treat James.

“You hear anybody from that era talk about going against Jordan, there’s a fear,” Mario said. “So when you have people that fear a player, then that tells you something different already. Like Jordan is just that guy. Like everything was, ‘I want to be like Mike.’”
