Mark Ruffalo Calls Out Ellen DeGeneres for Defending Her Friendship With George W. Bush

Written by on October 10, 2019

As much of Hollywood has expressed their support for Ellen DeGeneres in wake of her response to criticism over her friendship with George W. Bush, Mark Ruffalo isn’t willing to sip from the same Kool-Aid.

On Wednesday, Ruffalo called out DeGeneres for her stance that just because she doesn’t share the same beliefs and ideals as Bush, it doesn’t mean that the two cannot be friends.

After listing off his problems with Bush, particularly the Iraq War and its consequences, Ruffalo concluded his tweet by stating “we can’t even begin to talk about kindness.”

It all started after a photo of Ellen and Bush at a Cowboys game surfaced on social media. Many proceeded to criticize the talk show host for associating with him. “When I say be kind to one another I don’t mean only the people that think the same way that you do, I mean be kind to everyone,” Ellen said earlier this week. “Doesn’t matter.”

Like Ellen and anyone who ever tries to publicly take a stance in regards to anything, Ruffalo’s point-of-view has its share of supporters, as well as those who have tried to pick apart the flaws in his argument.
