Michael Jackson Accuser Wade Robson Says Muting Singer Isn’t His Call to Make

Since HBO’s Leaving Neverland premiered, several entities have distanced themselves from Michael Jackson as the movement to mute the artist gains traction. Now one of the documentary’s subjects has let it be known his story is bigger than merely abstaining from Jackson’s music. 

“That’s not really my concern. That’s everybody’s individual journey,” Wade Robson told TMZ. “If I have any hope it’s that we question—in general—who it is that we’re worshiping and why. So it’s beyond Michael.”

Robson then went on to explain that just because he doesn’t listen to Jackson’s music doesn’t mean he has the right to tell others not to do so. “I don’t have any moral authority to make a judgment for everyone else on that,” Robson stated. “I don’t listen to his music because I have a personal experience with it. But that’s everyone’s individual choice.”

The controversy surrounding Leaving Neverland has impacted everyone from Jackson’s own children to Aaron Carter. On Saturday it was reported that the singer’s daughter Paris Jackson was hospitalized after attempting suicide. It was said she did this in direct response to the resurfaced MJ allegations. But that same day, Jackson took to Twitter to deny that she made an attempt on her life while; a source close to Paris claimed she had an accident that required medical attention.

Singer Aaron Carter let it be known that he wants to fight Wade Robson after a tweet from an account posing to be Robson alleged that Carter was also abused by Jackson. 

“He’s trying to tie my name to this shit… I’m not that guy. I’m not the one,” Carter said to TMZ. “I might be a pop singer but I’m also from the fucking South. … You lucky I got something to lose now because I would punch you in the face.”

Robson’s attorney has since come out and stated that the now-deleted post that angered Carter was tweeted by a fake account.
