Nelly’s Apple Bottoms might be staging a comeback.
On Saturday, the St. Louis rapper shared an image of the legendary jeans’ logo alongside the caption, “It’s bout that time…!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don’t call it a come back..!!!!!”
Nelly launched Apple Bottoms in 2003. While the brand first started as a denim label, it later released clothing, accessories, and perfume. As part of the launch, Nelly also began a search for a model to represent the label, which aired on VH1.
Apple Bottoms were referenced in numerous songs, including Twista’s “Overnight Celebrity,” Flo Rida and T-Pain’s “Low,” Flo Rida’s “Love,” and Eminem’s “Shake That.”
Nelly will be performing at Lovers & Friends Festival. Other acts include Megan Thee Stallion, Ludacris, Fat Joe, Jhené Aiko, Lil Kim, Summer Walker, T-Pain, and Saweetie. There was some confusion when the festival was first announced when several of the billed artists denied their involvement. However, any conflicting reports were later cleared up and a second date was added to the festival.
Lovers & Friends takes place on May 8 and 9 in Los Angeles.
