Nelson Agholor Invites Philly Man Who Shaded Him After Saving Children to Eagles Home Game

Written by on September 24, 2019

Nelson Agholor, the Eagles wide receiver who was shaded by Philadelphia native Hakim Laws while describing to CBS 3 Philly how he helped save children from a burning building, is willing to let bygones be bygones.

Despite Laws’ criticism, Agholor wants to invite him and his family to the Eagles’ game against the New York Jets at Lincoln Financial Field on October 6, and enlisted the help of Twitter to get them connected.

Laws stepped into action after noticing flames shooting from the windows on the second floor of an apartment building in West Philadelphia. With smoke preventing a family from using the stairs to escape the burning building, Laws, a former firefighter, helped devise a plan where the father would throw the children, and he would catch them.

“I see a guy hanging out the window screaming that his kids were in there,” Laws said. “My man just started throwing babies out the window. And we were catching them—unlike Agholor and all his mishaps.” His remark comes after a brutal Week 3 performance from Agholor against the Detroit Lions where he had a fumble and  two critical dropped passes.

Authorities believe the fire was started by an air conditioning unit. No major injuries were reported from the incident.
