Nestlé Toll House Releases Cookie Dough You Can Eat Without Fear

It’s a question many of us have been forced to ask ourselves: Is a spoon of raw cookie dough worth the potential health risks?
Though the treat is undeniably delicious, it isn’t always safe to eat due to the presence of raw eggs and the associated dangers of E. Coli and Salmonella. But thanks to the team at Nestlé Toll House, this is a gamble we no longer have to take.
This week, the company introduced its “Edible Cookie Dough”—15-ounce tubs of premade dough that is intended to eat raw.
Nestlé confirmed the product on Twitter, pointing to a Cosmopolitan article about the roll out. The outlet cites an Instagram post by self-proclaimed “food lover” Eric Koenreich, who shared photos of the Edible Cookie Dough in flavors “Chocolate Chip” and “Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Monster.”
Koenreich spotted the product at a Publix supermarket in Florida. It’s unclear when the dough will hit shelves nationwide.
